Meridith Brehmer Entingh
Weaver and Fiber Artist
Artist Statement – I’ve had a lifelong passion for working with fiber. My palette is a wall full of yarn. I’m fascinated by mixing the color and texture of fibers to create one of a kind works of art to adorn people with lovely clothes to wear or their homes with decorative textiles.
Bio - Meridith studied art and design at Iowa State University, completing many fiber arts projects. Meridith learned weaving and dyeing at Springwater Fiber Arts School in Old Town Alexandria, VA in 2004. She has continued her studies in the fiber arts through workshops and participation in the Handweavers Guild of America, the Mid-Atlantic Fiber Association, the Handweavers Guild of the New River Valley and the Roanoke Weaving Study Group. Meridith recently completed a three-year term as the president of the Handweavers Guild of the New River Valley. She sells her beautiful handwovens including linens, scarves, shawls and ponchos at Birdy’s Loft at One Market Square in downtown Roanoke. She teaches weaving to both children and adults.
